Frequently Asked Questions
What is ShowCamp?
ShowCamp is an artistic community where dance, music, art, and drama techniques are introduced and developed. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, ShowCamp offers a unique mix of educational and performance opportunities.
Education Programs
A ShowCamp education provides a solid foundation for the young musical theatre performer. Proper techniques and terminology are introduced and developed at every age and ability level. During the school year, ShowCamp has become a service provider to the schools, offering a variety of standard based musical theatre programs. The ShowCamp summer session offers classes in dance, music, and drama. The focus of this Musical Theatre Program is on education and development of the individual student.
Performance Programs
ShowCamp is also a semi-professional community production company offering performance opportunities to young artists. Presenting 2 to 3 productions each year in various venues, the ShowCamp 'Show Program' provides a professional learning experience in acting, singing, dance choreography and artistic collaboration via workshops, rehearsals, and main stage productions. Even though the ShowCamp production provides an application for learned performance techniques and an opportunity to showcase the growth and development of students, it is not a recital. While auditions are not required for participation, the casting of principal roles are determined from auditions at the discretion of the artistic staff. The focus of the Show Program is on the production.
How much does it cost to participate?
Tuition varies with each class session and/or production. Please see our current Registration form for details. Full payment is due on or before the first day of the session.
Does ShowCamp have a scholarship program?
The mission of ShowCamp includes a commitment to provide assistance to those families with financial needs. Scholarship applications are available online for the summer session only. The amount of financial assistance awarded is usually a 50% tuition reduction and is contingent upon the amount of funds generated through donations and sponsorships that have been designated specifically for the scholarship program.
What is included in the tuition fee?
For The Musical Theatre Class Program: materials and supplies needed for the designated course of study.
For the Show Program : Each cast member receives a music folder, a rehearsal CD, a personal audition evaluation, and basic costumes for use during the production run. (Costumes remain property of ShowCamp, Inc.)

What does 'volunteer-driven organization' mean?
It means we value volunteers and we need you! As a non-profit organization, we must keep ever increasing production costs to a minimum. There are many volunteer opportunities to suit every schedule and skill. Parents, working under the guidance of a volunteer coordinator and the ShowCamp staff, take on the following jobs:
- COSTUMES : Assist costume designers with taking performers measurements, assigning, approving, and constructing costumes and accessories, gather pieces from thrift stores, and rent costumes as needed.
